Green Grass Hopper Travels

Green Grass Hopper Travels

This green grass hopper traveled about 3.5 miles from Wal-Mart on the hood of my vehicle averaging speed from zero to 55 mph. It didn’t move until I started prodding it with a dry leaf stem trying to get it onto it and it flew away.

Contractor Custom Wood Creations of Leland does Quality Work

James Curry

When you are looking for a local contractor and no one seems to follow through with coming to give us an estimate. It is such a blessing and relief to find one that is good at what they do. Reasonable in price and shows confidence and pride with the quality of work they have done and will do.

I found just such a contractor by walking up to him while on a job and asking for his business card. Granted it was almost a disappointment when we didn’t hear from him and once again thought we’d been forgot. A knock at the front door one day and the young man standing there asked if I was the person that had talked to him on the street a couple houses down. He had misplaced the piece of paper I’d written my name and phone number on, but thought he remembered the house I’d pointed out to him.
He looked at the work that needed done. Called back right away with an estimate. Within a day or two his crew was here starting the job. I was/am impressed with his knowledge and skill for such a young man. The work was done much better than we expected. His workers are very knowledgeable and do excellent work. The workmanship show the pride they take in doing a job right the first time around.
I feel that he was the one God intended to do the work for us. He is a wonderful Christian man that with motto quality first.

Halloween Clown Face On Vehicle At Wal Mart

Halloween Clown Mask on Car grill

Halloween Clown face with vampire teeth on vehicle at Wal Mart in next isle over from where we were parked. It caused a bit of stir with the passing by vehicles and people walking in the lot including myself. I only had my phone camera with me but wanted to get the shot. It kind of reminded me of an evil Ronald McDonald image.

Beautiful doll houses my older sister makes in her retirement

End of blue house

One of my older sisters in her late sixties started making doll houses with furniture after she retired. I have never personally seen them but she as talked to me on the phone about them. Recently, she sent me a few photos that I scanned into my computer. These houses are beautiful! She puts months, hours and labor of love into each one. They have been for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The blue one she just finished and gave to her great granddaughter. The brown one for two granddaughters, the nativity for a granddaughter that graduated from high school last year. The barn for grandchildren when the come to visit them at their home with grammy. She is presently making a log house one (from real wood) for her daughter-in-laws sister that has cancer. It is the sisters dream house. Her daughter in law asked her if she would make one from Lincoln logs and my sister said she would make one from real logs(wood).

Easter Rose Peace

We had a wonderful surprise for our Easter Sunday 2011. Looking out our kitchen window our one and only rose bud was showing color and within an hour it was open. It is a beautiful yellow with pink fringe. Today I learned it is a Peace rose. It is so pretty I have to look at it each time walking past the window. Even with the rain we received today sometimes very heavy it is still holding up beautifully. It reminds me of God as he holds us lovingly but firmly within his grasp when we feel like everything around us is crumbling. How can we not have Peace with him in our life.

The end of 2010 come New Year 2011

Where has the time gone? Seems like the year 2010 just began and we are saying farwell to this year and hello to 2011 in just a few short hours.

With 2010 we greated another two beautiful grandchildren. Grand children are delightful as you don’t have them 24/7 most of the time. Sadly for us we don’t get to see any of our may be once a year or every two years. they are many states and miles away. Heres praying that that will come to an end in a couple of years.

Wishing family, loved ones and friends a very HAPPY NEW YEAR in this coming 2011 year.

Paco and Celia Wedding

Sweet Union

What’s more beautiful than a simple wedding with God’s blessing, family and friends celebrating the occasion. Our wonderful next door neighbor invited us to their daughters wedding. We have watched her grow and mature for the past five years. The ceremony took place at a clubhouse poolside of a family friend. They took their wedding vows before God to love and cherish each other for the rest of their lives, as many family and friends witnessed the union. It was beautiful and simple. You could feel love all around them.

They met ten years ago at church. A friendship forming through the years. Connecting through online networking. A stronger bond forming while Paco was in Iraq serving his country with the Army, talking through FaceBook. They began dating in August of 2009 while he was home from Iraq. Dating growing into a love to be shared for a lifetime with the union completed by marriage.
